Roles Explained

Overview
Flete24 has three user roles. Your role determines which features you can access and what actions you can take.
Agent (Freight Forwarder / Carrier)
Agents are logistics service providers — freight forwarders, 3PLs, 4PLs, and carriers.
What agents can do:
- Manage a rate library (ocean freight, local charges)
- Import rates from Excel or extract them from documents using AI
- Build and send quotes to BCO clients
- Manage a directory of contacts and companies
- Connect with BCO partners on the platform
Typical companies: Global 506 Logistics, Flex Cargo International
BCO (Beneficial Cargo Owner)
BCOs are cargo owners — importers, exporters, and manufacturers who ship goods.
What BCOs can do (coming soon):
- Receive quotes from connected agents
- Compare rates across multiple forwarders
- Track active shipments and milestones
- Manage documents per booking
Platform Admin
Platform admins manage the Flete24 platform itself. This role is internal to the Flete24 team.
What admins can do:
- Manage all tenants and users
- View platform-wide AI usage and costs
- Manage reference data (carriers, container types, locations)
Tenant vs User
A tenant is a company (e.g. “Global 506 Logistics”). A user is a person who belongs to one or more tenants. One user can be a member of multiple tenants and switch between them using the tenant switcher in the top navigation.
